As Chara follows Asgore, he confesses that many years ago on this day, a tragedy in which he felt responsible occurred, causing him to lose everything. However, even though Chara wants to stay with Asgore, their words are mysteriously changed, forcing them to tell Asgore they want to leave.Īsgore then heads to his garden, beyond which lies the exit of Ruined Home. In any matter, he is very hospitable, making Chara tea and letting them live with him for as long as they need. In The City of Old, it becomes known that while Asgore is not a mayor or governing official, he is still viewed as an authority figure of high class, and a father figure for all. Asgore calls Chara repeatedly throughout their trek through Ruined Home, checking up on them and asking about what their preference of Butterscotch to Cinnamon. After that, he leaves to deal with the trouble in The City of Old. He apologizes for needing to leave Chara alone, and gives them a spare cellphone he has on hand. Shortly after reaching the end of the hall, Asgore receives a call from someone, regarding havoc being caused in the city. After an unexpected encounter with a Froggit, Asgore will then walk with Chara down a long hallway, sharing small talk.

Despite being in Ruined Home for so long, Asgore's life has not been completely full of sadness and guilt. However, deep down he struggles with feelings of guilt for failing to protect the previous fallen humans, as well as failing his family. He enjoys making Golden Flower tea, baking pie (even though he isn't good at it), taking bubble baths, comforting and helping those in need of help, planting flowers, watching Mettacrit's shows, giving advice, sponsoring town events, donating to charities, and holding tea parties. His outfit consists of a purple turtleneck sweater emblazoned with the Delta Rune, white sleeves, and dark purple trousers. He wears a pair of glasses, due to old age's impact on his eyesight.
